A plot is a planned, logical series of events having a beginning, middle, and end. Under normal circumstances a short story plot, as crazy as it
may become, is the creature of one writer. But what happens when this plot becomes a sea that receives water from different rivers? How do those waters mix and flow? What can we read in that sea?

Spanish writers Javier Calvo, Mercedes Cebrián and Juan Carlos Márquez are familiar with literary games. Their writing combines the ordinary and the extraordinary with doses of surrealism and acid humour, light and darkness, and unique ways of approaching history, popular culture and everyday events. For Spain NOW! 2012 they have worked on a shared plot, defining their own rules of collaboration and shared creativity. But the result goes beyond words: some of the most exciting video artists of the Spanish film scene, Augusto Lima, Videadores and Los Hijos

have also played yet another game. They have recreated this short story in images using the exquisite corpse technique. Each of them hasn’t been able to see what the other two were doing.

The result of this literary and film collaboration resides in the land of the unexpected, a prism where each element contributes to a unique remix of perspectives and disciplines while retaining its own creative distinctiveness.
